Woodend Gallery and Studios

Woodend Gallery and Studios, a charming Grade II* listed building once the home of the Sitwell family, offers a variety of spaces for hire for holding your meetings and events; from small conferences or seminars to group meetings, one to ones and workshops.

On arrival

A friendly welcoming reception will be given to your guests and visitors on arrival and a member of our team will be on hand to help with any enquiries you may have.

Location

A short walk from the town centre and railway station, Woodend is situated on the beautiful Georgian Crescent.  The entrance is through two large stone pillars down a short driveway that leads to the main entrance door.

Parking

There is one reservable parking space on site to assist loading and unloading.  Alternative pay and display parking is available close to Woodend and on street pay and display parking on the Crescent.  There are also two park and ride services in Scarborough.

Facilities

Toilets and fully accessible facilities with baby change areas available.

Step free access to the main door along with a small set of steps.  The ground floor is fully accessible to wheelchairs and pushchairs.

Well behaved dogs are welcome.

Sitwell Library – A stunning yet cosy panelled room.

The Butler’s Pantry – A small meeting room once the domain of Sir Henry Moat, Butler to the Sitwell family.

The Conference Room – A large room in the modern extension with additional external access.

The Conservatory – A large Victorian conservatory room with floor to ceiling glass windows and a glass atrium roof.

Woodend Gardens – A large outdoor space below Woodend.

Room facilities

Our meeting and conference rooms are all located on the ground floor. All rooms have the option for a large Smart TV or projector and screen for presentations.  We can provide a range of other equipment as necessary.

Catering options available by arrangement.

Sitwell Nibbles Café 

A space to enjoy a brew with a view, Sitwell Nibbles is a relaxed space in the former dining room of the Sitwell family overlooking the gardens serving a range of delicious drinks and light bites.

Gallery

Overlooking the beautiful Valley Gardens, the Woodend Galleries sit at the heart of the building in a spectacular Victorian Conservatory and the original , hosting a changing programme of contemporary exhibitions.

Licensing

Woodend has a Premises Licence which covers the meeting rooms and gardens.
