The Old Sawmill Café is a characterful and versatile events space located in Clapham, in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Set within a sympathetically restored former sawmill, the venue combines rustic charm with modern comforts, catering options and high specification accessibility making it ideal for a wide range of events and groups.

Events and Specialisms

Take the stress away from occasions and gatherings by booking The Old Sawmill, where we are able to cater for small or large groups throughout the day or in the evening, and will work closely with you to provide what you need for your event.

The Old Sawmill comprises two floors, with the cafe downstairs seating 40 but able to host up to 60 for non seated events, and The Reginald Farrer Room (approx 8m x 12m) upstairs able to seat or stand a further 60. We also have our picturesque garden area which currently has outdoor picnic style seating for 24, with space for more if required.

Events are not limited to catering, and the space can be used on a hire only basis. We have previously used The Reginald Farrer room for meetings, art galleries, Tai Chi, educational groups, Stargazing talks and much more, so if you require a space or have an idea, do get in touch, as we’re open to working with partners to run fun and exciting events!

The café offers a warm, welcoming atmosphere with distinctive heritage features, and the space benefits from flexible indoor seating, modern facilities and access to outdoor areas, providing an attractive setting for both relaxed and formal gatherings.
