The Dovecote Barns

The Dovecote Barns offers a unique historic luxurious sustainable experience for a corporate leadership retreat or team building retreat with a flexible space to all meet and dine together in The Long Hall venue and relax in one of 4 Visit England five-star luxury sustainable barns offering 11 ensuite guest bedrooms in total.

Located within each reach of York city centre and the main M1 and A1 motorways, the Dovecote Barns York is in a quiet rural location on a working arable family farm with plenty of car of on-site private parking space to fit both coaches and cars.

The 18th century agricultural barns were renovated to be fully sustainable have kept many of their original features in the building fabric whilst offering all modern facilities.  They are run on 100% renewable energy.

The Long Hall meeting space offers a totally flexible room layout that suits both meeting and residential requirements.  Full catering services can be offered if required.  Each barn is totally self-contained with their own kitchens and lounges, but the Grand Barn kitchen is designed to cater for the entire group to fine dine in the Long Hall venue.

A staffed licenced pay bar can be offered depending on the size of the group.

For smaller groups of 22 attendees taking exclusive use of the site, there is plenty of space to run both indoor and outdoor team activities.  There is a range of activities from archery, axe throwing, paint balling, wild swimming etc offered locally.
