About Swinton Estate
The Swinton Estate is one of the largest privately owned estates in England and has been the home of the Cunliffe-Lister family since the 1880s. Comprising of the Swinton Park Hotel, the Swinton Bivouac glamping site and 20,000 acres of beautiful Yorkshire countryside it offers a unique environment for guests and visitors alike to discover. Steeped in rich history, and with a myriad of activities for guests to enjoy.
We curate bespoke events and ‘away days’ to suit your requirements offering far more than just a place to meet. The function rooms at Swinton Park cater for a wide range of events, meetings, dinners and parties. From a board meeting in one of the turret rooms to a company presentation in The Library, we can offer top of the range facilities, within the splendour of our traditional surroundings and superb locations. With 200 acres of Parkland, a 20,000 acre estate and extensive on- site facilities including a cookery school and bird of prey centre, we are able to offer a tailor-made package of events for both team building and as incentives.
With over 25 activities for you to choose from, there is something for everyone. From relaxing at the spa with some outdoor yoga to the adrenaline rush of clay pigeon shooting. Our activity partner, Live For Today are onsite and here to enhance your event at Swinton Estate. They can offer team building activities such as cryptic chase orienteering, axe throwing, archery and escape rooms.

We can offer exclusive use of Swinton Park Hotel which includes the 32 bedrooms in the historic castle, 10 bedrooms in the Coach House, Samuel’s Restaurant and The Terrace Restaurant and Bar, the Parkland and Gardens. This makes for the grandest of occasions whether that be a wedding or corporate retreat.
The Estate is already carbon neutral, but we have no intention of stopping there. Our ambition is to reduce our footprint further by 30% by 2040. The Swinton Estate also has firmly established roots in ESG and sustainability, eagerly providing tours and insight into our progress in these areas to visiting groups – perhaps the perfect opportunity to kick-start your own discussions….?
